0800 Kidsline

In Term 2 Room 8 are making an 0800 Kidsline poster. Kidsline is for kids up to 14 and under. It is for people who are being bullied, who are sad, angry, and lonely. Well you draw something that's to do with those emotions I just told you about.

Speeches

This term we are all writing Speeches. Some people are reading theirs out to the class already. Some of the subjects the students are writing about are: Wearing skives under their school t-shirt. Some are writing about skateboarding being allowed around in the school. Some are writing about netball being indoors. Some are writing about rugby and some are writing about subway lunches. We've heard only one which was about skateboarding being allowed around in the school.

Marae Trip Term 1

In Term 1 Enterprise, Rumaki and Adventure went to Tunohopu marae.When we got onto the bus we were allowed to use our mp3s, phones, cameras and PSPs . We had to take our day packs, drinks and togs .We went to a Urupa and walked up a hill which was very tiring.The Urupa was very interesting and it had a very cool view of the lake. After that we went to have lunch at the lakefront and then had a play on the park . We went back on the bus and went to Tunohopu Marae to drop our bags off. The girls were in the Wharekai and the boys were in the Wharenui .The Marae was kind of dangerous because ther were very hot pools there. We had to wear covered shoes and stay together as a group.

Enterprise Academy

Enterprise Academy is about hands on.Our teacher is Whaea Taki and our teacher aid is Whaea Amanda. We have 26 pupils in our class, 12 year 8 and 14 year 7. Every Wednesday we have Technology with Rumaki and Adventure Academies, and in the afternoon we have team Hui.There are 8 different Technology groups. Health, Music, Soft materials and Biotechnology for the year 7 and Ict, Art, Food and Electronics for the year 8. Some of our class is in Saturday sports like Netball, Rugby and League. The activities in class are Maths, Reading, P.E, Written Language, Homework, Science and much more. Enterprise is cool because we get bonus points if we stay on task. We have to get 2500 bonus points then we can go outside for a game for 20 minutes. Our class has different types of duties. rubbish bins, people that hand out the books, art table, maths table, library, shoes and the red folder. Every Tuesday we go to the library. Every Friday we have Choir in the morning, Kapa Haka at 11;00 and Stage Challenge in the afternoon.
